Hello and thank you for visiting my website.
I am Gianluca, an adventure-driven yoga instructor, photographer and videographer with a passion for traveling, snowboarding and hiking.
Since I was young, traveling always played a big role in my life. At the age of 13, I took my first school trip outside of Italy and I immediately fell in love with that so-called airport life.
At the age of 16 after earning some money working part-time at the local supermarket and without telling to my parents I took a solo weekend-trip to London that changed forever the way I was seeing life. Coming from a small and close-minded town in central Italy I did what everyone else was doing, go to school, get a degree, work and eventually I ended up landing a job for a multinational company. I had a good job, a good relationship, a good life but I knew that I needed something else and I had to move out of my town.
In 2011 I got an interview for a job offer in New York and I was offered a 3 years contract to work in the big apple which I immediately took. I packed my bags, said ciao ciao to my family & friends and with the support and motivation from my girlfriend I flew to JFK alone without thinking about it twice.
That 3 years experience in NY turned out to last 7 years in which I got to live in New York City, Los Angeles and Breckenridge - (CO), which is also the place where everything changed for me.
I was always a mountain person, I was conceived at 1400 Mts in altitude when my parents took their short honeymoon in the Italian Alps (mom and dad, thank you for that) and in that same mountain, my passion for snowboarding started growing when I was in my late teenage years. I was hooked to the snowboard movies that were filmed in America and when I got to Breckenridge for the first time I felt something that is really hard to describe with words. It was probably the first time that I got to experience the true meaning of “a dream that came true”. I felt that I had made it, I felt realized, complete and whenever I was feeling down, all I had to do was to open my room’s window, smell some fresh air, see these perfectly shaped pine trees covered in snow and every bad emotion was vanishing in the blink of an eye.
I always enjoyed photography since the school days but never took it too seriously until one day when in Breckenridge I met Kyla, a kind and beautiful soul that was training really hard to become a yoga teacher. We started taking photos together and while my photo's quality was reaching a better level also my interest in yoga started to grow. I started taking classes, reading about it, meeting and photographing more yogis around the States who inspired and motivated me to practice every day. The love for yoga grew and led me to travel to South East Asia for 6 months where I attended more than 60 hours of yoga workshops with worldwide renowned instructors in the Philippines, Thailand and ultimately in Ubud, Bali, where I successfully completed 2 Yoga Teacher Trainings in Vinyasa and Yin becoming a YOGA ALLIANCE certified instructor.
Additionally, I also completed a 50hrs "FLY HIGH YOGA" teacher training in Canggu, Bali under the supervision of Jose Jimenez (Fly High Yoga founder) to be able to teach aerial yoga using the FLY HIGH YOGA methodology.
I am currently based in Amsterdam NL but I am always looking to travel to a new destination so please feel free to reach out to me in case you are interested in shooting or you are in need of a yoga instructor.
